historian, born in Prague, studied at the universities Prague, Stuttgart and London (1981 PhD at LSE), 1981 – 1999 research staff member at the German Institute for Czech History Collegium Carolinum in Munich, afterwards independent historian in Oldenburg.
Research Fields:
Author of numerous publications on the transfers of German population 1939 – 1949, history of political thought in Central Europe of the 19th and 20th century and the history of stereotypes with special focus on empirical research into Czech, German and British discourses.
